Adding Intercom tags to customers using Zapier

Create an integration with Intercom to analyze customer communication alongside your ChartMogul data.

For example, if you tag users on Intercom as a churn-risk based on support conversations, import this information to ChartMogul to view the amount of revenue that is at risk of churning.

Before you begin

Setup instructions

Zapier offers a beta version of its AI-powered Zap builder. Click + Create Zap and try the prompt, “For every tag added to a user in Intercom, add the tag to a ChartMogul customer via email.” Follow the instructions below for additional configuration.

  1. Log into Zapier and go to ChartMogul Integrations. Next, enter Intercom and select the app from the list. Click Connect these apps.

  2. Click Untitled Zap and enter your Zap’s name. For example, Push Intercom Tags to ChartMogul.

  3. Select 1. Intercom.

  4. Select Tag Added to User as the Event. Click Continue.

  5. Connect your Intercom account by clicking Sign in. Click Authorize access, then Continue.

  6. Leave the Which Tag? field blank if you want your Zap to trigger when any tag is added, or select a specific tag. Click Continue.

  7. Click Test trigger to test your trigger. Select a record and click Continue with selected record.
  8. To configure your ChartMogul action, select Add Tags to a Customer via Email in ChartMogul as the Event and click Continue.

  9. Click Sign in to connect your ChartMogul account.

  10. Link your ChartMogul account: enter your read & write API key found under Profile > View Profile > API keys in ChartMogul and click Yes, Continue to ChartMogul. Click Continue.

  11. In the Customer Email field, select User Email, and in the Tags field, select Tag Name. Click Continue.

  12. Test your action by clicking Test step. Click Continue.
  13. Click Publish to activate your Zap.

When a tag is added to a user in Intercom, this Zap will add the same tag to the user in ChartMogul.
