To use ChartMogul CRM, you’ll need to import leads and contacts. When your business gets a new lead, ChartMogul creates a customer record and stores contact details on the record. Leads are companies and contacts are the individuals who work at the company (who you’ll be communicating with during the sales process).
For accounts using one of the following integrations, ChartMogul automatically imports leads and contacts:
For all other integrations and sources, the method you’ll use to import leads and contacts depends on how your account is currently configured:
- My business isn’t importing leads into ChartMogul
- My business imports leads using a custom source (e.g. via the API)
How do I check if my business is importing leads into ChartMogul?
With Subscription Analytics, the customers in your account are subscribers. To use CRM, you’ll need to import leads. To check if your account is importing leads, first review your customers. Your account has likely set up lead tracking when many customer records have no subscription history and one of the four lead statuses: New Lead, Working Lead, Qualified Lead, or Unqualified Lead. Or, review your Leads chart to see if it’s populated with data.

For accounts which are not importing leads:
- Add a custom source by navigating to Settings & Data > Sources > Add Source. Then, select Custom Source. Create a name and click Next. Alternatively, use the default My data custom source if your account has one.
- Using our API, set up lead tracking and import contacts using the custom source.
For accounts which have built a custom source integration using the API to enable subscription analytics, import the following data to the custom source:
- Set up lead tracking.
- Import contacts.
