Updating your email notification settings

You’ll need to be an Owner, Admin, Staff, or Read-only user to configure and receive email notifications.

ChartMogul offers two types of email notifications. Enable recap emails to receive daily, weekly, or monthly summaries of your business’ performance. Set up real-time notifications to receive updates for MRR movements within a range of your choosing.

Here’s what we cover in this article:

Before you begin

Data included in real-time notifications and daily recaps

ChartMogul generates an MRR movement when it receives data from your integration. When your integration has a delay of 12 hours (or more) importing data, ChartMogul does not consider the MRR movement real-time and does not trigger a real-time email notification. Such delays may cause ChartMogul to generate MRR movements after a daily recap is sent, therefore excluding these updates from the email.

App Store Connect and Google Play integrations import subscription-related data once every 24 hours. When using these integrations, real-time notifications and daily recaps may not include all MRR movements. MRR movements excluded from email notifications are still visible in Chart Data, customer records and your billing system.

Default email notifications

Some notifications are enabled by default for all Owner, Admin, Staff, or Read-only users.

Default recap emails

For accounts created on or after June 19, 2024, ChartMogul sends daily, weekly, and monthly recaps by default. For accounts created before this date, eligible users receive weekly and monthly emails by default. To receive daily notifications, enable them.

Default real-time notifications

ChartMogul notifies you by email about MRR movements, including New Business, Expansion, Contraction, Churn, and Reactivation. By default, email notifications are set to $50 MRR, so you receive emails for MRR movements above $50.

Configuring real-time notifications

ChartMogul does not send emails for subscriptions that churn due to the Handling Past-due Subscriptions setting.

ChartMogul sends an email notification when an MRR movement is received and processed within 12 hours. If you recognize churn At the end of the service period, cancellations can be applied days or weeks after they have occurred in your billing system, and ChartMogul won’t send an email notification.

ChartMogul doesn’t send updates for MRR movements below 0.5% of the total MRR or five cents (pence, centavos, etc.).

Set up real-time notifications to get notified about new MRR movements as soon as they happen.

To update your real-time notification settings:

  1. Under Real-time notifications, there are two sliders: one for new business & expansion, and one for churn & contraction. Use the sliders to change the amount of MRR that triggers an email.
