Report: Refunds

The Refunds report is a ChartMogul report that shows the total value of successful refunds — transactions where cash has been returned to a customer — over time. Use it to spot trends in product dissatisfaction, billing disputes, or misaligned customer expectations before they affect your revenue.

What to Know About This Report

• Transaction fees are not deducted from the transaction amount.

How ChartMogul Calculates Refunds

ChartMogul calculates Refunds as the total transaction amount from successful transactions (individual payment events) where cash has been returned to the customer and applied to an invoice (a record of charges owed by a customer).

How to Read the Report Data Table

The Report Data table for Refunds works differently than other reports. It provides the following breakdown:

• Refunds — The total transaction amount of all refunds in the report interval.
• Change — The increase or decrease in Refunds from the previous report interval, shown as a percentage.

Select a Refunds cell to see each customer's refund amount for that report interval.

To download all paid invoices for the reporting period, click Export above Report Data and select Transaction details. ChartMogul emails you a download link when it’s ready. Learn more about exporting data.
