Applying changes to source-level settings
ChartMogul's source-level settings control how subscription data from a connected billing system is processed and calculated. When you change a setting — such as invoice handling or handling past-due subscriptions — you must choose how to apply that change to your data.
There are three save options. Each one determines how widely the new settings are applied to your data:
- Save Settings — Applies the new settings only to future data updates. Existing historical data is not reprocessed.
- Save and Reprocess Data — Applies the new settings to existing and future data. No data is reimported from your billing system (the external platform where your subscriptions are managed, such as Stripe or Chargebee).
- Save and Reimport Data — Applies the new settings and resyncs the source to reimport all data from your billing system, including records that were previously filtered out.

You’ll need to be an Admin or Owner in ChartMogul to access and change source-level settings.
Limitations
- Save and Reimport Data is not available for custom sources, Google Sheets, or third-party sources.
- HubSpot, Intercom, and Segment sources have no save options at the source level.
- Reimporting does not delete customer records, notes, or opportunities. Manual MRR edits and connected subscriptions are retained and reapplied automatically.
How each save option affects your data

Use this option if you want your changes to the settings (for example, invoice handling) to apply retroactively. Reprocessing ensures consistent treatment of past and future data without performing a full reimport. |
| Save and Reimport Data |
Saves your changes and reimports all billing-related data (invoices, transactions, subscription events) from your billing system. This does not delete your ChartMogul customer records or associated objects like notes and opportunities. Manual MRR edits and connected subscriptions are retained and automatically reapplied after the reimport. |
Use this option when your changes require importing historical records that were previously excluded. For example, if you’ve enabled the Import deleted customers setting. |

How to update your source settings
To update your source settings:
- Navigate to Settings > Data & Integrations > Sources.

Click the :settings~gray: Settings icon next to the source you want to update to open the configuration modal.

Expand Data Settings.
- Adjust the settings and save (your source may not display all options):
- SAVE SETTINGS
- SAVE AND REPROCESS DATA
- SAVE AND REIMPORT DATA

Confirm your choice in the dialog.
