Working with multiple ChartMogul accounts

Add multiple ChartMogul accounts as workspaces and switch between them without logging out.

If you work across more than one ChartMogul account—whether you manage multiple businesses, need a sandbox for testing, or collaborate on client accounts—workspaces let you access all of them from a single login. All workspaces must be associated with the same email address.

Once added, each account appears as a workspace in your Profile menu. Switch between them in one click, with your roles and select settings handled independently for each workspace.

Here's what we cover in this article:

Common use cases

There are a few common reasons you might need to access more than one ChartMogul account:

  • You run multiple SaaS businesses and want to easily switch between their ChartMogul accounts.
  • You need a sandbox environment to test integrations or data imports before making changes to your main account.
  • You’ve been invited to a client or portfolio company’s account and need to view data across multiple companies from one place.
  • You already have a trial or paid account and want to create a new one alongside it.

How this works

The following table explains how ChartMogul handles multiple accounts added as workspaces.

Email address All workspaces must be associated with the same email address.
Workspace access You set a default workspace that you land in after logging in. All workspaces you’ve added remain available across sessions.
Roles and permissions You may have different roles across workspaces—for example, Admin in one and Staff in another. Your permissions depend on the currently selected workspace.
Profile settings Some profile settings (name, email, password, 2FA) apply across all your workspaces, while others (connected email, notifications, API keys) only apply to the currently selected workspace.
Data settings Data settings (such as timezone or primary currency) are set individually for each workspace.
Notification emails ChartMogul includes the workspace name in notification emails so you can identify which ChartMogul account an email relates to.
Team member status Your status can differ across workspaces—when you’re deactivated in one workspace, you remain active in your other workspaces.

Accessing workspaces

Your workspaces are listed in the Profile menu. The list shows your role in each workspace, and a checkmark indicates the one you’re currently viewing.

When you accept an invitation sent to an email address that’s already associated with a ChartMogul account, the new account is automatically added to your workspace list. If you’re not currently logged in, you’ll be prompted to log in with the email address the invitation was sent to.

Switching between workspaces

To switch to a different workspace:

  1. Open the Profile menu to see the workspace list.
  2. Click the workspace you want to switch to.

ChartMogul redirects you to the dashboards of the selected workspace.

Reordering workspaces

To reorder workspaces:

  1. Open the Profile menu and hover over a workspace.
  2. Click the drag handle and move the workspace to a new position.

The top workspace becomes your default workspace.

Creating a workspace

To create a new ChartMogul account under the same email address and add it as a workspace:

  1. Open the Profile menu and click Create new workspace.
  2. Enter your Workspace name and select a Primary currency for your workspace.
  3. Click Create Workspace.

ChartMogul creates a new account associated with your email address and adds it to the bottom of the workspace list in the Profile menu.

Workspace settings

To configure the current workspace:

  1. Go to Settings & Data > Admin > Workspace Settings.
  2. Click CHANGE LOGO to upload a new logo image. The recommended size is 128×128px, with a maximum file size of 5 MB. PNG and JPG formats are supported.
  3. Modify the Workspace Name and click SAVE to rename the workspace.
