ChartMogul AI
ChartMogul AI is an assistant built into the app that connects your revenue metrics, customer records, and sales pipeline with the context in your customer emails and sales conversations. Because it draws on both numbers and conversations, it can explain why something happened, not just what changed.
Use it for deep, investigative analysis—why churn spiked on monthly plans, which accounts are at risk, what drove an individual MRR movement—or to draft an executive summary of the month.

Here’s what we cover in this article:
- What you can ask
- Getting better answers
- Accessing ChartMogul AI
- Asking a question
- Summarizing customer health
- Explaining a subscription event
- Managing chats
What you can ask
Ask anything you’d normally answer by digging through reports and customer records.
Pull and slice your metrics:
- Compare logo churn between annual and monthly plans.
- Show me ARR sliced by US states.
- What’s our net revenue retention by plan?
Understand what’s behind the numbers:
- What were the main causes of churn last quarter?
- What were the main reasons for not winning opportunities so far this quarter?
- Which competitors were most frequently cited during sales cycles last quarter?
- What is the most frequently cited feature request over the past three months?
Look ahead and get recommendations:
- What does our ARR look like in 90 days if current trends continue?
- How do we reduce churn?
- How do we grow ARR faster?
- How much should we be spending to acquire customers?
Write it up:
- Write me an investor-ready summary report of how we did last month.
- Write me an executive summary of how well the month is going so far.
- Write me a brief on Jellytech ahead of their renewal call.
ChartMogul AI can also explain individual subscription events to give you context behind a specific cancellation or contraction.
ChartMogul AI can make mistakes. Check anything you plan to act on or share externally.
Getting better answers
ChartMogul AI works best when it has a complete view of your business. A few things that make the biggest difference:
- Connect the mailboxes of team members who talk to customers to provide the AI with context such as cancellation reasons, competitor mentions, and buying signals.
- Import your full revenue history, including past customers, so churn and retention analysis covers everyone who ever paid you, not just current subscribers.
- Add product usage data from ChartMogul.js, Segment, Intercom, or the API for a view of how actively each customer uses your product.
- Add opportunity and lead data so the AI understands your acquisition funnel.
- Merge duplicate customer records so data from different sources lands on the same customer.

ChartMogul AI opens as a panel and summarizes information about the customer.
