Report: Churn MRR

The Churn MRR report tracks the recurring revenue you lose when subscribers cancel their last remaining subscription. It shows the Churn MRR from the MRR Movements report as its own report, so it's easier to segment and compare.

For SaaS businesses, churned revenue is one of the biggest obstacles to growth. Tracking it as an amount rather than a rate shows how much revenue you need to replace each period. Segmenting it shows which plans, regions or customer types lose the most.

To track churn as a percentage of your revenue, use Gross MRR Churn Rate or Net MRR Churn Rate.

Report Notes

  • Only customers who cancel their last remaining subscription contribute to this report. Revenue lost when a customer downgrades or cancels some but not all of their subscriptions is Contraction and isn't included.
  • Churn MRR is shown as a positive amount in red. For example, $500 of lost MRR appears as $500, not −$500.
  • Familiarize yourself with the Churn Recognition and Handling Past-due Subscriptions settings, which control when ChartMogul recognizes churn.
  • The report shows bars by default. Select LINE to see the trend as a line.
  • The summary below the report shows Churn MRR for Today, the Last 7 days, the Last 30 days, the Previous 30 days and All time. The percentage next to Previous 30 days shows the change from the previous 30 days to the last 30 days.
  • Use the drop-down above the Report Data table to switch between All MRR movements (default) and Net MRR movements. Learn more about net MRR movements.
