Key Metrics by Region
Key Metrics by Region shows your key subscription metrics, such as paid and free subscriber counts, MRR, ARR, ARPA, net payments, and retention, broken down by region, in a single sortable table. This makes it easy to compare performance across markets—for example, to spot which regions have the highest ARR, or where retention is lagging.
The table includes every region where you have at least one paying customer. You can also break the United States out into individual states, or include your account’s custom regions. An animated bar chart shows how countries rank by subscriber count and recurring revenue over time.

What you can learn from the report
Comparing metrics side by side across regions can surface patterns that aren’t visible when looking at your business as a whole. Here are some examples of what you might find:
- Countries that are driving the most ARR, so you know where to prioritize localization, support, or marketing spend.
- Regions with high MRR but low ARPA, which may point to an opportunity to test higher pricing tiers or upsells.
- Differences in retention between individual US states, which can reflect regional sales or account management coverage.
- Whether a recent pricing change or campaign in a specific country shows up in that country’s MRR growth compared to others.
Accessing the report
To access Key Metrics by Region, choose Data Lab > Compare Regional Performance from the main navigation.
Reading the table
Each row in the table represents a region. The table includes the following columns:
- Paid Subscribers – the number of paying subscribers
- MRR – Monthly Recurring Revenue
- ARR – Annual Run Rate
- ARPA – Average Revenue Per Account
- Net Payments – total net payments collected from customers
- Free Subscribers – the number of subscribers on a free plan
- Logo Retention Rate (YoY) – year-over-year customer retention rate
- Gross Revenue Retention Rate (YoY) – year-over-year gross revenue retention rate
- Net Revenue Retention Rate (YoY) – year-over-year net revenue retention rate

Viewing performance over time
Performance over time is a bar chart that animates how your subscriber count and recurring revenue have changed across countries over time. The chart is visible by default. Select the bar chart icon to control its visibility.
Use the drop-down to choose which metric to rank countries by: Paid Subscribers, MRR, or ARR.
Select the play/pause button to control the animation. Drag the handle on the timeline to jump to a specific point in time.
The chart is dynamically ranked by the selected metric, with the highest-value countries displayed on top. The animation doesn’t show US states or custom regions.
