Contact Lists
Contact lists are saved views of the contacts that matter to your business. Share them with your team, export them for use in other systems, or email and enroll the contacts in a list in bulk.
Use contact lists to group contacts such as:
-
Decision-makers at accounts approaching renewal
-
Contacts at churned accounts to target for win-back campaigns
-
All contacts at high-MRR accounts without an assigned owner
Your saved lists appear under Saved Lists in the Contacts sidebar.
Here's what we cover in this article:
Before you begin
-
Check the permissions for your role to see whether you can view, create or manage contact lists.
-
Add any contact custom attributes that are relevant to your business before you build lists.
-
Learn more about working with segmentation.
-
Review the available contact and customer filters.
Creating and saving contact lists
To create and save a contact list:
-
Select :contact-entity~blue: Contacts from the main navigation. All Contacts opens.
-
Customize the list:
-
Filter the list with the :add-filter~gray: Apply a filter or saved segment drop-down. You can also describe the filter you want and select Build with AI.
-
Search by name or email.
-
Configure the visible columns or sort the list.
-
-
Select :save-chart~gray: Save this contact list.
-
Name your list and choose who can view it: only you, or everyone on your team.
-
Select SAVE.
ChartMogul saves your contact list and adds it to the sidebar under Saved Lists. Organize your saved lists into folders.
Select any row in the list to open the contact's profile. There you can view and edit their details, manage tasks and sequences, and review their activity.
Configuring columns
Select :edit-columns~gray: Configure table columns to add or remove columns. You can choose from contact and customer fields, including contact and customer custom attributes. The Name column is always shown. See the list of available columns.
Sorting a list
To sort the list by a column, select the column header. Select it again to reverse the sort order.
Searching a list
Use the Search contacts by name or email box to narrow the list by name or email address. The search applies on top of any active filters or segments. The number next to the box shows how many contacts match.
Emailing and enrolling contacts in bulk
Select contacts in a list to send them all the same email, or to enroll them all in a sequence. You need a connected email account to do either.
To select contacts, check the box next to each row. To select every row on the page, check the box in the header. Then select Select all [number] contacts from this list to include the rest of the list.
Sending an email to multiple contacts
-
Select the contacts, then select Email contacts.
-
In Compose batch email, write the subject and body. You can use placeholders to personalize each email.
-
Select Review emails to preview the emails and check the recipients.
-
Select Send emails, then confirm.
Emails go out gradually to stay within your email provider's daily sending limits. The first email is sent right away and the rest follow about 45 seconds apart. While a batch is sending, you can follow its progress at the top of the list and select Cancel remaining to stop any emails that haven't gone out yet. Emails already sent can't be recalled. You can send one batch at a time.
Each email appears in the Activity feed of the contact it was sent to.
Enrolling multiple contacts in a sequence
-
Select the contacts, then select Enroll contacts.
-
In Enroll Sequence, choose the sequence.
-
Select Review sequence to preview it and check the recipients.
-
Select Enroll contacts, then confirm.
Each contact starts the sequence at its scheduled send time. Progress appears in each contact's Activity feed.
Contacts that are left out
ChartMogul leaves a selected contact out of a bulk email or enrollment if:
-
The contact doesn't have a valid email address.
-
The contact shares an email address with another selected contact.
-
The contact is already enrolled in an active sequence. This applies only to enrollment.
The recipients list shows how many contacts were left out and why. You can also remove a recipient from the list before you send.
Adding a contact
To add a contact from a contact list:
-
Select :add-item~gray: Add a new contact.
-
Fill in the contact's details. All fields are optional, but include at least a name or an email address so the contact appears in searches and filters.
-

Select :export-items~gray: Export as CSV.
